How crazy is it to wanna take affiliate marketing to the streets?

By streets I mean that place where the cars stop when the light turns red, not the one with brokers in a New York.
I plan on advertising up to 60percent discount on electronics and have my link in big letters. How easy will it be for the drivers to remember a bit.ly/… link? and how likely for them to spend their hundred dollars for a 250dollar camera?
Do I sound like a complete idiot or a mild genius?
